Antique French Bronze Lion Clock
19th century French bronze dark patina clock on a wood base. There are internal stamped markings on the clock mechanism of Brevete A Paris (I believe indicates 'patented in Paris'). There is also a hand etching on the inside of the back cover that says "Charotte Davis Young 1860" which has been copied onto the clock key tag.
The clock bronze which wraps the clock portrays a fighting lion and snake. This theme is much like that found on many of Alfred Barye (1839-1882) bronzes and were done around the same time that would be contemporary with his works.
The dimensions for the clock is 9" tall, 8" wide and 4" deep. The clock face is 3.5" in diameter.
