Vintage silverplate lot featuring a Reed & Barton teapot in the highly sought-after King Francis pattern, along with an ornate engraved serving tray and matching serving utensils.
The teapot is clearly marked “Reed & Barton 1646 King Francis” and showcases the classic elegant styling of this pattern, including a rounded body, decorative banding, curved spout, hinged lid, and four-footed base. A great example of traditional American silverplate craftsmanship.
Included is a large rectangular serving tray with elaborate floral and scrollwork detailing. The tray has a personalized engraving that reads: “Mrs. Martin In Appreciation For Your Years Of Dedication Thank You Your Students,” adding a unique historical and sentimental touch.
Also included are matching serving utensils, including a butter knife/spreader and a long-handled fork or pickle server, both with decorative handles that complement the set.
Maker’s marks visible include Reed & Barton and Meriden B. Company (part of International Silver Co.), both well-known names in vintage silverplate.
Condition shows heavy tarnish, patina, scratches, and wear throughout. There is visible silverplate loss in areas, especially on the utensils and underside of pieces. Interior of the teapot shows discoloration from age and use. The tray also has surface wear and oxidation consistent with long-term use and storage. No cleaning has been attempted.
