Offered here is an original 1765 edition of Johann Arndt's Paradiess-Gärtlein ("Paradise Garden"), printed in Germantown, Pennsylvania by the renowned colonial printer Christoph Saur (Christopher Sower). The title page identifies the work as:

"Paradiess-Gärtlein, Zur Übung des wahren Christenthums..."

This devotional prayer book was written by Johann Arndt (1555–1621), one of Lutheranism's most influential theologians. The 1765 Germantown printing is considered an important example of early American German-language publishing.
